Your First Visit

At City Smiles, we understand that you have many choices for care. Feeling comfortable and confident with your dental team is important.

The City Smiles team delivers long-lasting, natural results in a comfortable setting. To provide a high-level of care, our team is committed to understanding your goals and offering you options to achieve them.

In our office, your first visit sets the direction of your journey to optimal oral health. This is when the relationship starts and we explore your goals together.

Your First Visit: What to Expect

To begin your visit, you meet with our New Patient Coordinator in our consultation space for a few photos and a computerized analysis of your bite. This allows us to identify any underlying causes to both obvious and hidden problems.

Next comes your clinical appointment, which depending on your preferences can happen during your first visit or at a subsequent visit. It includes a one-on-one conversation with Dr. Chris Hill. Then, Dr. Hill and our care team complete a clinical exam.

  • Examination of Teeth – Dr. Chris Hill checks for decay with our non-invasive DIAGNOdent laser.
  • Soft Tissue Examination – Periodontal (gum) disease assessment and oral cancer screening.
  • Bite Alignment Analysis – Dr. Chris Hill checks your bite for proper bite alignment.
  • Digital X-rays – A set of dental X-rays will provide a complete view of your oral health.
You and Dr. Hill, along with one of our New Patient Coordinator, review your photos on a big screen monitor and discuss any concerns that are present.

As the consultation continues, Dr. Chris Hill spends time reviewing those concerns and explaining your options for treatment. His objective is always to meet your goals, as well as answer any questions you may have.

Some people ask why we invest so much time upfront with our patients. To us, it is clear. The foundation of our partnership with you is based in communication. That communication must begin with hearing your needs, understanding what is most important to you, and then being empowered with what you have taught us, to build a plan that allows you to achieve your goals for dental health and appearance.

Your first visit typically requires one and a half hours of time. While we understand that many dental offices offer free consultations, due to the comprehensive nature of a consultation at City Smiles, there will be a fee associated with each visit.

We look forward to getting to know you.
