Dental Crown Alternatives

If the decay in a tooth is too severe to fix by a dental filling, Dr. Hill may suggest an additional or alternative treatment. This may be necessary when too much enamel loss makes the tooth sensitive. Often the dental filling can remedy this issue or significantly improve it, but in some cases we may recommend one of the following:

• Dental Crowns- Crowns are suggested when more support is needed than what is provided by a dental filling.
• Dental Implants- If a tooth is irreparable, a dental implant may be suggested to replace the root.
• Root Canal- A severely infected tooth may require a root canal before a dental filling can be considered.
